A COVID SAFE HOLIDAY WITH NOVA PARKS LIGHT SHOWS

Meadowlark Winter Walk of Lights

This year, holiday cheer may be found through more non-traditional avenues to cope with the ongoing needs to stay safe and healthy amidst a global pandemic. NOVA Parks is excited to be keeping three of the region’s biggest holiday traditions alive, with the return of all three magical light shows.

Bull Run Festival of Lights in Centreville, Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights in Vienna, and Ice & Lights- The Winter Village at Cameron Run in Alexandria, will all be a part of bringing holiday cheer to the region with new COVID safe precautions and contact free access options.

With the overwhelming desire to provide your family with a way to enjoy the holidays, while remaining safe, NOVA Parks has instituted new, detailed safety precautions at all three shows, as well as some new assets the make this year brighter than ever.

Bull Run Festival of Lights in Centreville

For the first time ever, Bull Run Festival of Lights is selling tickets online for a contact-free entry to the 2.5 mile magical drive through light show. This is the perfect COVID safe holiday family celebration to enjoy from the comfort and safety of your car.  In addition to online ticketing, three additional weeks have been added to the show to provide more times slots and more days for families to enjoy. At the door tickets will still be an offered option. With safety in mind, the Holiday Village will look a little different this year. Fire pits, merchandise sales and photos with Santa will be replaced with a walk through light area with plenty of family photo opportunities. The carnival will continue from November 19th to January 1st with additional cleaning and safety precautions in place.

Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights

A regional favorite family tradition, Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights, will open November 11th this year, with lower capacity numbers in each timed ticket slot and online tickets to encourage social distancing. At the door tickets will still be an offered option. The one-way walk through light show will allow guests to enjoy the show outside and socially distanced from other parties with reduced capacity limits. Families will be able to enjoy an enchanting, safe evening with the comfort of knowing exactly what to expect when they visit the show. Instructions on how to enter the show and changes to the Visitor’s Center access and other gathering spots are provided to attendees with their ticket purchase. In addition to social distancing, we are increasing sanitation practices to keep our guests and employees safe and asking for guests to consider face coverings when inside buildings.
