It's great to get back outside!
Spring has finally sprung, and not a moment too soon. In all fairness, we have more than paid our dues with winter weather, so bring on spring! Along with sunny days, blooming beauty and of course the inevitable seasonal allergies, this is the time of year that so many outdoor activities and events are beginning to take place all over Northern Virginia. NOVA Parks recently released their 2016 Spring Camps and Programs Guide and we have to say it is awesome. Seriously, the guide is jam-packed with amazing things that you just can’t miss!
A couple of fun things going on this weekend are the Here Comes Spring Hike at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March, 19th, and the Volunteer Work Party at Potomac Overlook Regional Park, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Saturday as well! You will finally get to take in some fresh spring air and get that vitamin D you have been desperately lacking. For all of the families that have children on spring break, get ready for our up and coming Annual Easter Egg Hunts taking place at nine locations from March 20th- March 24th. Get your tickets now!
One of the BIG things that make us crazy for spring time at the parks, is the planning and rolling out of our summer camps. Participating in summer camps has to be one of the coolest and most rewarding parts of our jobs at NOVA Parks. There are many hands involved to make Camp Grow and Camp Overlook the BEST Summer Camps in Northern Virginia! Book a spot today!
