On July 18, 1774, 25 gentlemen from Fairfax County (including Alexandria) signed the Fairfax Resolves which rejected the British Parliament’s claim of supreme authority over the American colonies. John Carlyle, George Mason, and George Washington are names still known today, but who were the others and what stakes did they have in signing this document? Join specialty tours in commemoration of the Fairfax Resolves to learn more. Specialty tours are at 10am and 2pm and cost $8 per person. Registration is required.
