Picnic Shelters
Occoquan Regional Park features several covered picnic shelters available for rent for large corporate events, family gatherings, groups, etc. Shelters are adjacent to large fields to accommodate a large variety of field games.

The park’s shelters have capacities of up to 50 and100 people. Shelters can be rented online using the button below.
If your event is outside the scope of a simple picnic (food, beverage, and guests), a Special Use Permit and $25 non-refundable processing fee is required along with your reservation. This application does not reserve the shelter. The shelter reservation must be made separately.
The Special Use Permit is required if:
- You want to have a “public gathering”, such as a demonstration, picketing, speech making, parades, ceremonies, meetings, rallies, entertainment, games, shows, concerts and all other forms of public assembly.
- You would like to sponsor or arrange a public gathering of more than 75 persons upon property owned or operated by the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.
Amusement Devices:
Amusement devices such as inflatables, rock walls, etc. are not permitted in the park.
Catering
Catering food options are conducted through Brickmakers Catering for all food, beverage and alcohol needs.

Shelters 1, 2 and 3 have a maximum capacity of 50 guests. Shelter 4 has a maximum capacity of 100 guests.

Is there power at the shelters?
Only Shelter 4 has electrical outlets.
Is there a water hookup at the shelters?
None of our shelters have access to water hookups.
Can I grill at a shelter?
Each shelter has one grill available for use with the shelter reservation. Personal grills or cooking devices are prohibited.
Can I play music?
Amplified sound (speakers or microphones) are not permitted at our shelters.
Can I bring alcohol?
No. Alcohol is strictly prohibited on park property with the exception of service from Brickmakers Café (must be purchased and consumed within Brickmakers Café seating areas).
