2025 Camp Overlook Offerings
Summer Camp registration opens Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at 10am.
See below for camp sessions and rates. The camp season will begin on Monday, June 16th, 2025.
Puddle Jumpers Camp (5-6 year olds)
Puddle Jumpers will participate in a variety of activities including outdoor games, arts and crafts, nature hikes, live animal presentations, bug hunts, and more! Each week also has a different theme, and the majority of activities will focus on that theme.
Camp Schedule: 8:30am -12:30pm
Session 1 (Water)*: June 16-June 20 (20 campers)
Cost: $225 per camper in jurisdiction/$275 per camper out of jurisdiction
*Please note that this session is off on Thursday due to the Juneteenth holiday.
Take part in a stream hike, learn all about and experiment with the water cycle, make your own water strider craft, and more!
Session 2 (Creepy Crawlies): June 23 – June 27 (20 campers)
Cost: $275 per camper in jurisdiction / $325 per camper out of jurisdiction
Go on a bug hunt and meet live creepy crawlies, make a wiggling caterpillar craft, construct your own “bug hotel”, and more!
Session 3 (Reptiles): July 7 – July 11 (20 campers)
Cost: $275 per camper in jurisdiction / $325 per camper out of jurisdiction
Meet live turtles and snakes, watch our snakes be fed by a naturalist, take part in a turtle race, and more!
Session 4 (Birds): July 21 – July 25 (20 campers)
Cost: $275 per camper in jurisdiction / $325 per camper out of jurisdiction
Meet our resident birds of prey, make your own paper towel owl, go on a bird watching hike, and more!
Session 5 (Earth): August 11 – August 15 (20 campers)
Cost: $275 per camper in jurisdiction / $325 per camper out of jurisdiction

Junior Naturalist Camp (7-9 year olds)
Junior Naturalists will participate in a variety of activities including outdoor games, arts and crafts, nature hikes, live animal presentations, bug hunts, and more! Each week also has a different theme, and the majority of activities will focus on that theme.

Join us for an offering that’s a mix of all our other Junior Naturalist Camps! Each day will correspond with a theme from the other five Junior Naturalist sessions: Earth, Birds, Reptiles, Creepy Crawlies, and Water. The perfect offering for a camper who wants a little bit of everything!
Junior Naturalist ½ Day Camp (7-9 year olds)
Junior Naturalists will participate in a variety of activities including outdoor games, arts and crafts, stream exploration, nature hikes, live animal presentations, bug hunts, and more!

Session 1: June 23 – June 27 (20 campers)

Junior Gardeners Camp (7-9 year olds)
It’s never too early to kindle a passion for horticulture! Your young gardener in training will explore the gardens in our park, learn about pollinators, make their own planters, and more in this special four-day offering!
Camp Schedule: 8:30am-12:30pm
Session 1: June 30 – July 3* (15 campers)
Cost: $220 per camper in jurisdiction / $270 per camper out of jurisdiction

Adventure Camp (10-12 year olds)
Adventure camp is a high-paced, recreation-focused camp! Activities may include swimming, hiking, kayaking/paddle boarding, a high ropes course and more! A perfect four-day offering for those who want an action-packed camp experience. Camp contains field trips to other parks each day.
Camp Schedule: 9:00am– 4:00pm
Session 1: June 30 – July 3*(15 campers)
Cost: $440 per camper in jurisdiction / $490 per camper out of jurisdiction

Critter Caretakers Camp (10-12 year olds) *NEW*
How do we care for animals? Whether it’s animals we work with or our loveable companions, there’s all kinds of techniques and things to know to keep our critters happy and healthy. Learn how to take care of the animals at the nature center, pets, and more in this brand-new offering.

Session 1: July 7 – July 11 (15 campers)
Cost: $275 per camper in jurisdiction / $325 per camper out of jurisdiction
Ranger Recruits Camp (10-12 year olds) *NEW*
Our environment needs leaders who will protect and conserve it, and that’s where Rangers like you come in! Learn how to be a good steward, practice conservation, and more in this brand-new offering. Ranger Recruits Camp will get out into our park and participate in eco-friendly activities such as trail upkeep, plantings, invasive species management, water testing, and more. A great camp for future conservationists!

Session 1: July 14 – July 18 (15 campers)

Outdoor Living Skills Camp (10-12 year olds) *NEW*
Do you love the outdoors? Want to pick up some tips and tricks to explore the wilderness? Learn how to make a campfire, plan your next camping trip, go hiking, and more in this camp!

Session 1: July 21 – July 25 (20 campers)
Cost: $275 per camper in jurisdiction / $325 per camper out of jurisdiction
Art in the Park Camp (10-12 year olds)
There’s beauty all around us in nature! Each day will focus on a different visual art form including photography, drawing, painting, print work basics, and natural sculptures. This camp is perfect for your aspiring young artist! Camp contains field trips to other parks.

Session 1: August 4 – August 8 (15 campers)
Cost: $515 per camper in jurisdiction / $565 per camper out of jurisdiction
Pirates of the Potomac Camp (11-13 year olds)
Avast ye, scallywags! Take part in this exciting offering as we “set sail” along the Potomac River. We’ll explore our park, learn about our watershed and water’s role in everything around us, and visit different locations along the Potomac and engage in water exploration with kayaking, stream hiking, netting, and more! Camp contains field trips to other parks.

Animals 101 Camp (12-14 year olds)
Calling all animal enthusiasts, this is the camp for you! Want to learn more about our local wildlife? Or work with reptiles, amphibians and birds of prey up close? Campers will participate in a variety of activities including animal feeding, handling, IDing, and more. Camp contains field trips to other parks.
