Hemlock Overlook Regional Park

Horizons began its partnership with NOVA Parks in June 2023 with the operation of outdoor youth programs and rentals at Horizons at Hemlock Overlook. Horizons has been operating quality outdoor education programs for over 30 years. Serving public and private schools, scouts, and youth programs ranging from K- University ages and focused on the three key elements of Team Building, Environmental Science, and Adventure. For a full list of activity offerings click here. Horizons at Hemlock offer day trips and overnight options, programming is provided on a half-day, full-day, and evening basis. Lodging and meals can be provided for groups of up to 100.

 

For lodging, Hemlock offers four bunkhouses, each capable of sleeping up to 24 and includes a bath house. The bunkhouses are centrally located and include hot water showers, sinks and flush toilets. Bed and bath linens are not provided, and it is recommended groups bring a twin fitted sheet, sleeping bag and pillow with case.

 

Meals are prepared and served fresh on-site, and the dining team are happy to accommodate most dietary allergies, restrictions, religious exemptions, and lifestyle choices when it comes to your meals. The dining team can easily accommodate the big nine allergens which include: peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, soy, wheat/gluten, fish, shellfish, eggs, and sesame, as well as dietary lifestyle choices such as vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian. Meals are served only with group reservations and the standard mealtimes are 8 am, 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

 

With all reservations, groups are provided a program coordinator. The coordinator is present at arrival, joins the group at all meals and remains available for emergent overnight calls while groups are onsite. For programming, groups ensure should maintain a 1- 10 or 1 to 12 ratio of chaperones to students.
