Fishing
Beaverdam Reservoir is part of the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, fisheries management program. Studies are conducted each year with stocking programs implemented as needed. Beaverdam Reservoir is home to species such as large mouth bass, catfish, carp and a variety of pan fish species. To protect this drinking water source, we ask that all guests properly dispose of used fishing line, hooks, bait containers and trash prior to leaving the park. Fishing is permitted from the water, the shoreline around the reservoir and the Crew Overlook Pier within Reservoir Park. Fishing from the pedestrian bridge and central pier located at the boat rental marina is prohibited. Live bait, basic fishing equipment, snacks and drinks will be available seasonally for purchase at the boat rental marina. Please follow all Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources requirements for fishing. View the most recent biologist management report.
Hiking & Biking
Reservoir Park offers a pedestrian only 8 mile loop trail and connection to Loudoun County’s Goose Creek Pointe Park trail. Hiker’s are encouraged to access the trail system at Reservoir Park. Additional trail access is located at Loudoun County’s Edgar Tillet Park, and Reservoir Road. Please note that parking at Reservoir Road is roadside only and is very limited. Bicycles are encouraged within Reservoir Park on all paved paths. However, for the long term sustainability of the natural surface trail system, bicycles and motorized vehicles are not permitted on the natural surface trails. Hiking trail maps are available through All Trails and QR codes linking to the trail map will be posted on trailheads and on trail markers.
Pavilion Rental
While Reservoir Park does not offer first come, first serve picnic areas, it does offer rental picnic pavilions perfect for family, friends and co-workers and also serve an important role in source water protection. Through their innovative butterfly roof design, the pavilions serve as rain catchers. Water is captured and naturally filtered through bioretention basins before entering the reservoir, a vital source of drinking water for the community. The pavilions include tables, grills and electricity. The pavilions are available for all day rentals from 9:00am – 7pm or one hour prior to sunset, whichever comes first
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the park.
Pavilions will be available for rent beginning in Spring 2025.
